Q: renamed photos not found

I did a slide show from a directory of saved pics. When I played it I discovered I could display the photo name in the show so I went back and renamed all the photos according to year and location.

When I went ti iPhoto trash to empty it it errored on all 447 photos as unable to find them with the original name - SOOOO they are still there in the trash and I cannot get rid of them - clones of the new pics but with a different name.

WHERE ARE THESE STORED IN FINDER??

Why do they use a mirror copy instead of the original ala Windows Movie Maker and Digital Image Pro. Why can I NOT batch renme from iPhoto?? I now use picasa but now I see that iPhoto gets confused if an imported photo gets renamed and it cannot find it.

Photos do not have "names" what are you calling their names? Exactly step by step did you "rename" your photos?

Are you talking about titles? File names (if so you can not change the file name in Photos)? we can not see you and unless  you give us details using standard nomenclature we have no way to help

Give the error you report I'm guess you used the finder to change the file names - if you did then you need to restore your backup from before you intentionally destroyed your library - you must NEVER makes any changes of any sort to the content or structure of the iphoto or Photos libraries using the finder - doing so corrupts the library an makes it unusable
