Q: Strange characters when i use my key board

I cleaned my Apple key board with extended numerical keys with a damp cloth. Now when I type it produces strange characters in any application. The Macbook Pro keyboard is fine. Any idea whether I pushed a combination of keys to produce this and if I can get it to rvert back to normal?

Cheers

I should have said that I'm running Yosemite 10.10.4. I used Windex on the the cloth, not water.

Holding down the option or control key and then typing letters gives you different characters like this - Ω≈√∫˜µ≤≥åß∂ƒ˙∆˚¬∑´®†¥¨ˆøπ“

Are you seeing something like that?

If so, that key may have gotten stuck, tap it a few times and see if that fixed the problem.

I don't know of any way that could happen.  If another keyboard works fine, it indicates the one you cleaned has most likely been damaged.
