Q: Setup problems: Why won't my new iPod Touch let me fill in my correct Apple i.d.?
Bought an iPod Touch 6th Gen yesterday, but when I began setting it up, the iPod wouldn't accept my Apple i.d. (email address), even though I confirmed with my records that it was correct. Each time I typed in the first letter of the i.d. and tried to follow it up with the rest of the email address, the first letter would disappear and the box went blank. There seemed to be no issue with the password, so I tried entering that and then the i.d. again, but the same thing happened, but this time I got the "Not recognized" error message.
I moved on and was able to enter my home wireless network successfully (at least the 4-bar icon says I did) and set up a pass code, but couldn't complete the setup because of the Apple i.d. problem. After several more attempts, I decided to start from scratch and did a reset, but the same thing happened. This problem doesn't seem to be addressed in the "At a Glance" or "Getting Started" chapters of the manual and I'm afraid I'm going to end up blocking the device if I keep on trying to enter my i.d..
Can anyone tell me why the iPod wouldn't accept my correct i.d. and password? I don't want to create a second Apple i.d. and password. (That way lies madness.)
Also, Is there a "troubleshooting" article on the Apple database for total Touch newbies? Any information much appreciated!
