Yep. But considering that the phone is 4 generations out of date it may not be worth the investment.
One additional thing to try is to run the battery down until the phone shuts off. Leave it off for a few hours, then charge it using the wall adapter.
If you want to try a couple of really bizarre ideas google the "freezer trick" and the "hair dryer trick." there are some anecdotal successes.

For my own learning, what does running the battery down accomplish? I am trying to learn as well as help where I can.... I will check the two tricks above, regards....

Aug 16, 2015 5:44 PM in response to elcpuby Lawrence Finch,Running the battery down is the only way to completely shut off the phone. This sometimes resets hardware in a way that a normal power off will not.
