Aug 15, 2015 2:00 AM in response to kdbright59by K Shaffer,Part of this question would require you to identify the television unit and describe
the audio and video ports available, then a suitable adapter may be researched.
Since port types and specifications also changed over the course of the several
years duration the MacBook model was produced, to also know the model and
sales build order information from that computer, may also be of help to determine
which adapters may have been recommended by Apple in the year it was current.

Usually a mini-display port in Mac, would require an adapter to the TV port type.
There is some port information in this MacBook1.1 (1.83 + 2.0GHz) spec pages:

http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook_2.0_white.html

The other side of this would be to know the ports in the television... for an adapter.
Good luck & happy computing!

Aug 15, 2015 2:21 AM in response to K Shafferby K Shaffer,PS: The early MacBook 13-inch model originally had a mini-DVI port, which looks somewhat like
a mini- display port. So here's another article that discusses the Mini-DVI; look into Everymac.com
page(s) relating to your model to see how exacting that information pertains to your model.
The mini display port and Mini DVI look similar adapters are specific. I have some of each and
they do not work interchangeably. Between the early Macbook and last iBook/PowerBook, the
hardware evolved...

The above timed out and so this was lost in the effort. Then I had to log back in to try & post.
Oh well. Hopefully you can find the correct adapter for use with the vintage Macbook...

Aug 17, 2015 12:03 AM in response to kdbright59by K Shaffer,There is a list of video adapters with images, in this support page.
Toward the bottom are the Legacy adapters for older model Mac.
• About Apple video adapters and cables - Apple Support
• MacBook: Mini-DVI to video adapter compatibility - Apple Support
Audio support to an un-named display or television may depend
on what kind of ports the display has for input, and then to use
the audio out (check system preference setting) port to attach
the computer to the external display, to test for function.
The audio won't go through the video cabling, usually, so that is
a second cable and perhaps another adapter, too; if required.
Obsolete audio and video adapters would have to be researched to
see if amazon or ebay, among others may offer similar replacement
parts from another supplier than Apple that do the same job.

Several older links or replies to ASC support discussions topics no longer
work; so if you search and find an Apple Discussion from say, 2008, likely
a reference to the Apple store or other support pages will no longer work.
And the page will not go anywhere near the original reply content.
To search for a variety of results, change the model year in the search:

audio adapters:

If the product is not a MacBook, but instead is a MacBook/Pro, those parts &
numbered accessories may differ somewhat as the product evolved over time.
My first edition 13-inch MacBook1.1 coreduo 1.83GHz was a step up
from the iBookg3/g4 and PowerBookG4 models I've had, in that their
supported video adapter options may still be available through third
party sources online; while pre-MacBook old vintage is harder to get.
Some adapters look similar but the pin count may not match ports.

Sorry to not have exacting part numbers, but you can identify the unit
and use the resource web page URLs to find more information.
Good luck!
