Q: Stop iTunes from putting photos back on my iPhone
I would like to store the large number of photos I have on my Mac only. I synced my iPhone with iTunes to move them over, but now all of the photos from the Mac and the iPad are coming back on to my phone. How can I delete them from my phone (the album doesn't have a trash option) without losing them from the Mac and how can I prevent them from coming back? Thanks! I need to free up some memory on my phone. Thanks!
iPhone 5, iOS 8.4, Macbook Pro

You don't use iTunes to move photos from an iPhone to a computer. That is done as described in the following link: Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support
Syncing with iTunes is done to move photos the other direction (computer to iPhone). To delete photos that are already synced to the phone via iTunes, you sync again using the following instructions from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201313
Delete synced photos
- In iTunes, locate and click on your device.
- Click Photos.
- Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."- Click Apply.
