Aug 17, 2015 10:54 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby borisboy36,HI its a older Mac book pro 15 and I was running the latest Yosemite OS X, I am not a mac whizz so sorry about lack of info, now when I turn on my Mac I get an gret screen with a empty flashing folder in the middle of the screen that's all that happens.

From the 4 option menu select Disk Utility.
Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.
If the disk cannot be repaired, it will have to be replaced.

Aug 17, 2015 12:18 PM in response to borisboy36by OGELTHORPE,Use the original Snow Leopard installation disk tha came with the MBP and start up the MBP as if you were going to install the OSX.
After the language selection, the display should have a menu bar on top.
Click on UTILITIES.
From the drop down menu, select Disk Utility.
Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.
If the disk cannot be repaired, it will have to be replaced.
