Aug 18, 2015 4:41 AM in response to tsaadiby mende1,The 12-inch MacBook is a very basic computer in terms of connectivity. Right now there is no USB-C to Thunderbolt adapter, so it is impossible to connect the MacBook to, for example, the Thunderbolt Display, but there are USB-C to Ethernet adapters (although there are no Apple oficial adapters yet) -> http://www.kanex.com/usb-c-gigabit-ethernet-adapter
To know more about USB-C adapters, check this Apple article -> Using the USB-C port and adapters on your MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015) - Apple Support As you can see, you cannot plug the MacBook to a Thunderbolt Display, but you can connect it to most displays through VGA or HDMI

Aug 18, 2015 4:47 AM in response to tsaadiby mende1,Any Mid 2011 MacBook Air or newer can be plugged to a Thunderbolt Display, because they come with a Thunderbolt port. In this case, you would only have to buy a Thunderbolt cable.

Oct 23, 2015 2:58 PM in response to tsaadiby John R. Edwards,I am considering a Macbook, but I want to be able to use my Firewire hard drives and video equipment. It looked like Thunderbolt would work for that, but I have also read that Intel is using the USB-C interface for thunderbolt. So if Apple doesn't make an interface perhaps others will?
