Q: I just added family sharing to my account.  I need to switch my daughters ipad out of my id into her new apple id.  Any idea how to do that?  When I went to Setting/Store this is for switching to a complete new user not a family sharing.  Thanks

How do I change my user id to my new child's user id because we are now a part of family sharing?

iPad mini 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 8.4.1

You cannot do that.  ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.

You can add her ID to the family and define her as a child so that you can control her future purchases.  As far as the old purchases are concerned, you can leave them under your ID but then she will need your password for any updating.  Another option is for her to repurchase under her new ID (hopefully they're not expensive) but, if any are games, she will lose her scoring history.

Edit... Ignore my comment about "expensive."  Since they have already been paid for under your ID and she's part of the family, she will NOT have to pay again.  Unfortunately, I was correct about the game scores.

I am less worried about losing information or games.   We can always reload.  I just need to know how to put in her id?  Do i need to restart her ipod somehow?  How do I change the id?  I created an id for her in our family plan.  I need to assign that id now on her ipad.   Her ipad is currently in my id and I'd like to now put it in her new id that I created for her in the family plan but I am unsure how to do that.  Thanks for your help.

I did from the Mac per the following:

OS X Yosemite: Manage the family you organized

If you don't have a Mac, go to your IOS device (iPad/iPod/iPhone).

    Settings > iCloud > Family

    Then "Add Family Member"

I already added her to the family.  I need to know how to switch the id on the ipad.  Do I reboot the whole IPAD?

If I understand correctly, your daughter now has two Apple IDs.  I'm a little afraid to offer advice here because I don't want to get you messed up.  If an Apple Store is convenient, make an appointment with the resident "Genius" and take both devices there.  They can resolve the issue within minutes and there is no charge.

If an Apple Store is not convenient, I have two suggestions:

    1) Bite the bullet and pay Apple for telephone assistance - 800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. and I think Canada.

    2) Start a brand new thread (this one's getting too long) and ask again for assistance, this time stating that your daughter has two IDs and that the incorrect one is on her iPad.  (State that the "other" ID is on your family plan.)
