Q: Where can I find my non-purchased music?

Since the new iTunes update, only my purchased items are showing in the iTunes menu.  What happened to all of my music that I burned into iTunes? Is there a way to transfer my music back into iTunes? Your help is appreciated!

    Hello noeandbrenda,

I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue with iTunes after a recent update. If you are not seeing any of your non-iTunes Store purchased music in iTunes, you may want to verify that the files are still in the correct location, as outlined in the following article:

    Check your iTunes media folder

    Mac

    1. Open Finder.
    2. From the Side Bar, click your Home folder (the folder named after your user account).
    3. Go to Music > iTunes > iTunes Media.
If the iTunes Media folder is empty, go to Music > iTunes > iTunes Music.
    4. Open the corresponding folder for the file type you're looking for. The contents of the folder will be listed in alphabetical order. Depending on the folder, the files will be sorted by artist, author, or title.

If the files are still properly located but iTunes still isn't displaying them, you may then want to try the steps outlined in this article:
