Q: cannot download itunes to windows 7

Hi, my daughters Ipad mini has been locked as she has forgotten her password. Am using my mums laptop to try and unlock it. Problem is we are unable to download ITunes. It goes through it all but error then comes up and we cannot continue. tried using different browser. She hasn't had I tunes on laptop before. Any ideas please?
