Jul 7, 2015 9:26 AM in response to Jonas4321by kbastian,Encouraged to find this post (I am not alone) - DISCOURAGED that the Apple Watch *****. I have to reboot my otherwise awesome Apple Watch daily as this is a constant issue. VERY disappointed. The entire point of the watch is ease of use and quick replies, but when I have to reboot the watch to reply, it is no longer faster... it is faster to get my iPhone out now.
So sad.

Jul 7, 2015 11:17 AM in response to samt14by Foto Munki,I have had the same problem as others (slow/no touch screen response) and just did the hard reset (push in digital crown and the sleep button and hold until apple logo reappears). Seems to have solved the problem for now. I wouldn't mind having to do this 1x/week or so (it is a 1st gen product), but daily would be an issue. Apple's response and willingness to help early adopters will determine whether or not I become a 2nd/3rd gen purchaser.

Jul 7, 2015 3:27 PM in response to Jonas4321by hackneykaru,I Have the same problems outlined here. Sometimes the screen becomes unresponsive or it goes to sleep very quickly before i can tap anything. Basically the watch becomes useless. This usually happens after wearing for a few hours and only started about 6 weeks after I got the watch. As others have mentioned putting it onto the charger for a while seems to solve the problem. However the issue comes back from time to time and is very frustrating. Thinking about taking to the Genius Bar and seeing if they will exchange in case this is a gremlin that only affects some watches ?

Jul 11, 2015 8:38 PM in response to Jonas4321by RiverValley,I am having same problem and the only thing working is the clock. I don't need this frustration and am going to Apple Store - to return it!!

Jul 12, 2015 4:02 PM in response to RiverValleyby JJ Wagner,My watch worked fine for 2 months, but since yesterday itnis less responsive to touch. Today in basically changed to useless with only the clock working properly. I have now tried to reset and it seems fine, so we'll see.

Jul 12, 2015 4:57 PM in response to Jonas4321by rggulen,I have been trouble free for more than 2 weeks after turning watch off and on again. Just powered down; not any type of reset. Whenever my phone acts strange, I power it off, wait a minute and then turn phone back on. I will do this for the Apple watch as well in future.
Good Luck.

Jul 13, 2015 12:38 PM in response to Jonas4321by tandemguy,I have an Apple Sports Watch which I received for father's day several weeks ago. I started having the same problem as you describe on Saturday. I would press the crown button and then try to select an app but before I could that screen would disappear and the watch face would come up again. Trying to swipe to one of the at a glance apps wouldn't work. And then I couldn't even press the numbers on the lock screen to unlock the watch. Several of the lock screen numbers were totally unresponsive to touch.
I put the watch on the charger and it seemed to start working properly for awhile but that didn't last long. I wore it while out on a hike Saturday afternoon and on bike ride Sunday morning and couldn't get the touch screen to work properly.
I did a little searching online and didn't really see any solutions to my problem. I finally came across a note from Apple about the crown button getting debris behind it and that the solution Apple offered was to hold the watch under running water in the sink as you turned and depressed the crown button. That surprised me as I didn't know the watch was waterproof to that extent. I tried rinsing it under running water and then dried off the watch with a soft cloth and everything started to work perfectly again.
I've come to the conclusion that sweat or sunscreen lotion may either be affecting the sensors on the back of the watch or perhaps even the touch screen itself. Don't know for sure but that was my experience with rinsing off the watch and drying it.

Jul 28, 2015 9:08 AM in response to Jonas4321by kayak125,Yes, I have had the same problem and it worried me because I have no Apple store nearby either. I did a hard reset and hopefully it fixed the problem; so far, so good.

Jul 28, 2015 9:15 AM in response to Foto Munkiby kayak125,I totally agree. I can put up with mild irritation about this product because, otherwise, I love it. How Apple handles the issue is of utmost importance! I don't want to have to constantly be rebooting it...What is the point of the product if it's so bothersome?!

Jul 29, 2015 2:39 PM in response to Jonas4321by Faithjake,How strange, my watch has been working perfectly since launch but woke up this morning and the right hand side of the screen would not respond to touch. Looked online and there were lots of accounts of very similar issues over the last few days which makes me think it's software rather than hardware as a simple full reset solved the problem. However this should not happen especially after paying nearly £600.
i Hope apple tech reads these posts so they can see that despite them not encounteringthese issues it does not mean it is not an issue for the rest of us And hopefully find a fix

Aug 4, 2015 10:02 AM in response to Jonas4321by Bganes99,I have the exact same watch and have had it for the last 2+ months. I noticed this issue for the first time yesterday but I ignored it as I thought I was doing it incorrectly or my hands were wet ..
Today it is not responding to any touch/swipes and I can't do a hard reset as it does not accept the touch commend ... help!!
-
Aug 4, 2015 10:34 AM in response to Bganes99by kbastian,Hard reset does not require any touch. Simply hold down both buttons on the side of the Watch until you see the Apple Symbol, that is how you do a hard reset. Hope it works afterwards, it should.

Aug 16, 2015 4:01 PM in response to Jonas4321by Rick Wargo,I also had the same issue occur after having my watch for 2 1/2 months. Performing a hard reset on the watch (simultaneously push the digital crown and sleep button until the Apple logo appears) seems to have fixed the watch (and it seems to be a little faster, too).

Nov 16, 2015 8:40 AM in response to Jonas4321by bmaltais,Similar here. I documented the problem on my blog and also posted a video of the issue if you are interested. Mine kept showing the issue even after painfully performing a full watch reset... given the display hardly responded to touch:
I booked an appointment with an Apple genius and now my watch has been sent for repair... I really don't see how they can repair that given how difficult it is to take apart. Will see when it comes back. Another owner reported a similar issue and when his watch came back it was still broken. He eventually received a new one as a replacement.
