Q: `Apple Music` skips tracks.

After updating iTunes, Apple Music (apple's new streaming service) skips most tracks. In this screen-record video (link below), all tracks are skipped on this album, but at times, there are a couple to a few tracks that work fine. I use Apple Music in Canada. I am using Apple Music during the 3 month trial period. Someone else in my household is Apple Music too. We are each using individual trials under separate accounts, not the family Apple Music pack. They are experiencing the same issue.

I live in Canada using iTunes version 12.1.16 on a MacBook Pro.

Same thing is happening on my iPhone 6 Plus...

I'll wait for Apple to fix it...

I have an alternative for the time being. :-)

Not for me.  DNS changed worked briefly yesterday but has since stopped.  Pleased I'm not paying for Apple Music at the moment.

Doesn't look like anyone Apple side is reading the discussion boards. 5 days - DNS workaround no longer working; now music I have purchased I can no longer download /stream. Whatever about free service for 3 months window we'll identify and fix the bugs as we go - but now the music I've purchased I cannot stream !!!

Time to take this to twitter and get #AppleMusicFail trending. Maybe someone will notice and move to action then.

DNS not working for me anymore in Ireland. Its really annoying as I cant even get access to Beats 1 shows either. Its skipping over them too. I was delighted to see Apple putting Dr Dre's show up for replay but that skips over too. For the last two days I've been using what's left in my Spotify subscription. I may keep it on until these problems are sorted out.

Oh just to add I tried this on Mac and iPhone via Wireless and Cellular network on the iPhone - same problem. Tried on my normal broadband then on Mac same problem.

Is this just a European thing as I don't see the net in uproar about it?

This is pathetic. Apple has to have its engineers on the ball on this crap!

I posted a reply to this post a couple of days - I had all these problems so changed the DNS which worked but was not reliable all the time, basically it wasn't quite right. I have just de-authorised and re-authorised all my computers, logged out and in, a few times, turned iCloud off and on (all of which I have done before), have just been for a run, come back and it has just started working fine on my original DNS settings - I do not think any of the above made any difference as I have done this a few times - I think the change is at Apple's end

Hey everyone; looks like Apple Music is back working - have tested on a couple of machines now.

Can anyone else respond and confirm access is back?

    thanks

Yep, seems to be working for me too.  Using Sky router on its default DNS settings in the UK.

Seems like most are having trouble with their home computer. Mine skips while using Apple Music on my iphone, and im streaming all my songs, and most are all skipping to the next track. Just started happening the last week or so. I can't see how this would have to do with DNS since im streaming over 3G or LTE.

OK, I was able to have some success fixing this on my Mac.  I noticed that the problem had to do with some internal network settings.  So I set about resetting my network settings. To reset these settings I followed the instructions to set a new location in Network in System Preferences.

    1) Go to Apple Menu

    2) Go to System Preferences

    3) Go to Network

    4) At the top of the Network screen click Location, then Edit Locations

    5) In the popup menu, click the plus to add a new location.  Name it whatever you like. Click Done

    6) Select the Location from the drop down menu on the Location to the new location.

    This worked for me.

This is exactly what's happening to me; the streaming service simply skips through all the cloud based tracks. They play fine through my macbook but nothing works through my iPhone 6 plus.

Did you get your's to work again or does anyone have any ideas? All systems and app's fully up to date, and I've tried everything I can think of.
