Q: Wi- Fi calling on T- Mobile and iPhone 5s is disabled as soon as I start to make a call

As soon as I call certain phone numbers, and press the send button, the top of my phone changes from "T-Mobile Wi- Fi" to just "T-Mobile" and I don't have adequate service (anyone with T-Mobile will understand) to be able to make a call, so the phone just hangs on "Calling xxx...." Why does it do this?? Other numbers seem to work fine. I have reset the phone, doesn't work.

    Hello tyler82,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see from your post that "Wi-Fi" is dropping after the carrier name in the status bar when trying to place a call over Wi-Fi.  I suggest going through the steps below to help resolve this issue.

If you don't see “Wi-Fi” after the carrier name in the status bar

Follow these steps. Wait about two minutes between each step.

    1. Go to Settings > Phone and turn Wi-Fi Calling off, then turn it back on.
    2. Restart your iPhone.
    3. Reset network settings on your iPhone. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    4. Connect to a different Wi-Fi network.

    Have a great weekend.
