Q: Why can't i modify this partition?
Hey guys,
I'm having a lot of trouble creating a new partition in an external hard drive. It was the hard drive from my old macbook, and i have been using it as an external hard drive formatted in EX-FAT (with the GUID Partition thingy) and now I want to create a new partition in the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format to create a bootable windows system in the external hard drive.
When I open the partition tab, it appears all greyed out, saying "This partition can't be modified".
Can anyone help please?
PS: I'm a super noob, so if you would please speak the common tongue and not use abbreviations I would be extremely grateful.
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Yes. You will need to reformat the partition to Mac OS Extended, Journaled or try modifying it from a Window's computer using GParted.
