Q: I cannot sync my ipad 2  version 8.4.1 ( 12H321) with my imac version OSX 10.5.8.

I cannot sync my ipad 2  version 8.4.1 ( 12H321) with my imac version OSX 10.5.8. I am aware that my imac is pretty old, but I have always been able to sync my ipad with my mac. I also tried to use my new iphone 6 with my old mac and it didn,t work. This support community was very helpful then and clarified to me that it will never happen. But my ipad and my imac were "good friends" until now. My imac simply does not recognise my ipad as far as itunes is concerned BUT IT DOES ACCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO SYNCING THE IPHOTOS.... does this make any sense???  thanks a lot!!!!!!

It sounds like an issue with iTunes alone. It may be a new thing in the latest version of iTunes. Alternatively, it could be that you are using an old version of iTunes. Check for updates. iPhoto will always recognize devices. It is like if you plug a USB drive in with photos, iPhoto will recognize it. It sounds like you are just using a system that is too old to handle these new devices. Sorry!
