Q: Link pop ups to other cells

I'm trying to make a budget that will let me choose from a pop up and then add the amount entered into cells on another sheet. if this can not be done on the ipad version, but someone knows how on the Mac, I would able to do it there as well.

Thanks

    Hi alsoMrMackey,

I am sure what you are trying to do can be done, I am not exactly sure what you are trying to do!

Check out the personal budget template either on your iPad or the mac. I think you will see what you are trying to do laid out for you. you should be able to adapt what you see there to your use.

Sorry for not making myself very clear. You actually can do what I'm talking about in the budget templet, but I would like to add it to my own stuff. Here is the example from the templet.

In the "transactions" sheet, a category is chosen from a pop up menu. Then an amount is entered. The amount that is entered in the amount column is then added to the "Actual" Column in the "Budget" sheet.

I'm trying to figure out how to make the selection from the pop up menu add the entered amount to another cell.

    Not sure if that helps

Thanks for the first reply anyway!

    Hi alsoMrMackey,

Why don't you post a screenshot of your table and how you want it to work.

    For Example:

    IMG_0218.PNG

So, the "Team" column in is filled in by the popup menu seen in the picture. The "Points" column should add to the "Total Points" column in "Table 2" So in this example "Table 2" should show 27 in the "Team Blue" row and the "Total Points" column. Since that is the total number of point the have in "Table 1"

    Thanks Again

    Hi alsoMrMackey,

It is good that you have your values in a popup but your question does not hinge on them. The function SUMIF is what you are looking for.
