Mar 18, 2015 5:35 PM in response to cromwellcarlby ExMonk,Thanks for that info! Too early to say for certain, but this seems to have resolved the issue. I've updated Chrome last night, and I've haven't had the problem behavior since then.
I thought I'd had the same issue with Firefox, but I use it only of occasional necessity, so I'm not certain. I'll work with it some to see if it does also, but for now, this seems fixed with Chrome 42 Beta.

Mar 23, 2015 1:40 PM in response to ExMonkby pnosko,My Chrome just auto-updated to Version 41.0.2272.104 (64-bit) and it looks like the back/forward swipe navigation is disabled entirely in Gmail. But the problem still exists in Google News and other websites.

Apr 2, 2015 11:30 AM in response to pnoskoby savidon,I am on the same Chrome version (on Mavericks) and still seeing the problem. It also happens on Safari and Firefox as well.

Apr 5, 2015 11:45 AM in response to avaleiby rxbike,I had this happen after security update 2015-002 , had to roll back to previous time machine back up which restored functionality. Took a chance and ran 2015-002 again and it worked fine the second time. Security Update 2015-003 and now I have the same problem again. Swipe back freezes safari at the edge and the swipe feature is nulled on chrome. Five finger grab is now disabled also unless I reboot then it will work until swipe back freezes . I've been on the phone with Apple support and all they can tell me is revert to previous version or reboot.
Apple are you listening ? Your trackpad software bites the big one

Apr 6, 2015 6:08 PM in response to avaleiby johnnyangel666,Yosemite was released in October of 2014 and I haven't noticed this happening until recently. I swapped mice with another computer in the office that was not having this problem and now BOTH computers are doing it. I purchased a new mouse and it does it too. I'm going crazy! I don't want to change my settings to 2 finger swipe (I use multiple desktops a lot!) or anything else I just want it to work like it did before!

Apr 8, 2015 9:04 AM in response to avaleiby colin225,I have the same problem and it's very annoying!
I had to take an online exam multiple choice (like 40 questions) and when I reached the bottom of the page guess what happened?
APPLE / GOOGLE CHROME PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. I WILL DONATE MONEY TO YOU (ON TOP OF YOUR BILLIONS OF DOLLARS THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE FROM US)

Apr 15, 2015 8:30 AM in response to carloshenrique153by pnosko,Thanks for letting us know that version 42 was released. I've been using Safari for a month now and badly wanted to like it, especially with the integration with Safari on my iPhone. But I just find Chrome a little more friendly (more readable bookmark toolbar, pasting images into Gmail are just a couple). And Safari's "Share" using Gmail sends me back to Chrome when it could have just as easily kept me in Safari, the default browser. So it's back to Chrome for me.

Apr 18, 2015 5:29 PM in response to pnoskoby Traveler42,Yes, it is much much better with Chrome 42.

Apr 28, 2015 10:09 AM in response to Traveler42by richardsonheights,I do think it is better, but I'm still seeing it happen, particularly on reddit.com. For example, scrolling in certain spots on the front page causes the browser to go back a page. Really driving me crazy.

Jul 17, 2015 8:03 AM in response to richardsonheightsby richardsonheights,This seemed to have fixed itself in Chrome 42, but now I'm on Chrome 43.0.2357.134 and the problem is back. I tried to swipe back on some pages and the page just seems to "scroll". Driving me nuts.
