Q: Grayed out itunes music from icloud?

A good part of my itunes library that i assume was stored in the icloud whatever is showing up grayed out in my itunes library. It shows a cloud with an arrow, like it can be re-downloaded like a lot of my other songs, but some are grayed out and I am unable to click on them. It shows up and plays in my phone's music fine, but I just can't get them on my laptop's library. Is it possibly an issue with the iclould that holds the music? If so, how do I turn it off

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

    Hi there Eliana16,

It sounds like some of your songs in your library have the cloud symbol and are grayed out so you can't do anything with them. According to the following article the computer may not be authorized to play those songs:

    Resolve issues with iTunes Match

If songs appear to be missing

Songs containing DRM (Digital Rights Management) might not appear in iCloud, or might appear grayed out. This can occur if your computer is not authorized to play that content. Authorize your computer, then manually update iTunes Match. To find out what Apple ID your computer needs to be authorized with to play a specific song, follow the steps below:

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Locate and select the song that you want to play in your iTunes library.
    3. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose File > Get Info.
    4. In the Summary tab, find the Account Name field in the right column. Write it down.
    5. Click OK.
    6. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose Store > Authorize this Computer.
    7. Type in the account name from the Summary field and enter its password. Click Authorize.
    8. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose Store > Update iTunes Match.
