Try to reset your network settings.

Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings

If this doesn't help, try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on the phone.

    • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
    • Press and hold on the Home button
    • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

It's not clear what the problem is. Yes, location accuracy is improved when WiFi is turned on. That's the way the phone is supposed to work.

I guess the problem is that "Wifi not open in my iPhone 4s".

Actually, I suspect the problem may be that the OP has chosen to turn WiFi off and is getting an alert suggesting they turn it back on. However, until they respond, we won't know for sure. And, everyone should know how to reset their phone.

I first tried to reboot my modem, but that did not solve the problem.  Then I tried everything on these boards except for a reinstall.  That includes updating to 8.4.1   Nothing worked.

Then I tried rebooting the modem and the router at the same time.  I pulled the chord on both, turned on the modem and then the router after the modem seemed completely back on.  Then I reset the Wifi Network Settings (again).  >Settings >General >Reset > Reset Network Settings.

It now works, but ominously, the first dump of 2 day of e-mails did not finish.  Wifi connection lost.  I clicked on the inbox again and it completed.  More to be seen.
