Q: MacBook Pro Not Starting

My daughter's MacBook Pro is not starting up at all. I plug in the charger and get a green light on it. When I press the start button, absolutely nothing happens.

Suggestions?

I wish I knew! It's fairly old and very large! Beyond that, without being able to boot up and see About My Mac, I can't give that data. The OS X should be recent, either Maverick or Yosemite.

Let the MBP sit for an hour and see if there is any change in the charger light.

Try a SMC reset (several times if you have to):

I gave up and took it into the shop. We shall see what the problem is. Hopefully it's fixable for a reasonable sum.

They discovered it was the cable connecting the hard drive to the computer. It was an easy, inexpensive fix. Yay!!!
