Q: How to transfer voicemails from one iPhone to another?

Finally making an upgrade from iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1.2 – end of the road) to a brand new iPhone 6. I'm confident that iCloud will help me preserve all my data – except old voicemails. Can someone explain how I can transfer old voicemails. I know that the voicemails are recorded and preserved on my iPhone 4 directly, in other words, they're not retrieved from AT&T's site each time I wish to listen to one.

I'm not sure if the following info is meaningful – my old cell phone service provider will be AT&T and my new cell phone service provider will be Credo (Sprint).

My new phone will arrive in the mail tomorrow so I'm trying to be clear as to what to do when it arrives.

    Hello pain in the,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

If you want to transfer the voicemails from your iPhone to a new iPhone, the following article should be of assistance to you.

Sorry Jeffd55. Bad advice. I've visited that Apple Support page, and if you read it, nowhere in that information does it explain how to preserve voicemails.

Since I wrote my original question I have learned that it can't be done – preserving and transferring conventional voicemails from one iPhone to another. What can be done is to off-load, and thereby preserve, the voicemail files to a Mac (or PC).

I've discovered an app is called iExplorer by Macroplant  <https://www.macroplant.com/store/"Demo mode" is convincing, and after one registers and pays $35 one can off-load voicemails selectively or all the voicemails stored on a given iPhone to a Mac. It works well and there was no translation or degradation of the audio files during the off-load.

    Thanks anyway.
