Q: Did the last update, and now my playlists and manually added CDs aren't there.

I did the latest update for iTunes, and now, all of my playlists are gone, the only music listed in My Music are the songs I've downloaded from the computer, and all the CDs I had manually added to iTunes are nowhere to be found.  HELP!  Is there a way to retrieve the missing playlists and CDs, or am I going to have to spend days manually uploading several hundred CDs every time I update iTunes?

    Howdy Carriemary1971,

It sounds like you are unable to see some of your manually imported content after updating iTunes. If you see an ! in a circle to the left of the tracks, then I would recommend you use this article to help locate them and re add them:

If your music is missing from iTunes

If not and they are just completely missing outright, then I would use this article to try and get them back:

If you don't see your content after you update iTunes

You can also look into the iTunes music folder location (In the Music folder on Windows by default) to see if you can find them manually. If you can, simply drag them into the iTunes window when you have it open to add them back to the library listing.

If you haven't already I would also recommend that you set iTunes to copy your imported media to the iTunes library itself, that way everything is all in one place. You can enable this in Preferences > Advanced > "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library."
