Q: broadcast safe filter 10.2.1 not working

Adding the broadcast safe filter to correct luma on some end cards. Heres whats happening. Any advice would be appreciated.

1. Add end card title over main spot (black text from AE, animation RGB+Alpha)

2. Check Scope (black under 0)

3. Add broadcast safe NTSC, Luma Correction @ 100%

4. UnRendered, black looks clamped

5. Clip Renders, check scope, black is back to where it started (slightly below 0)

6. Scratch Head

Final Cut Pro X, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

What clip did you apply the Broadcast Safe filter to? The end card title? The main spot? My guess is that you may need to apply it to both.

Hi Luis,

I was just putting it on the end card, but tried on both and it makes no difference. When its unrendered, it looks clamped at 0, but after it (both) render, it pops back to below zero. Its very strange...

What happens if you do this manually – using the color board? Does it stay put after rendering?

Hi Russ,

I pushed the shadows up to 3% (worked at 1, but for examples sake). White line on prerender. This is the same behavior as the broadcast safe filter

Little jaggies appear post render...

Perhaps gert rid of all your render files (from the File menu) and see one of them are causing the behavior.
