Q: How to reinstall bootcamp assistant

I went into utilities->boot camp assistant->show package contents->contents->Info.plist and changed some of the code and now boot camp assistant always quits unexpectedly when I try to open it. How do I reset this program or what can I do. I am trying to duel boot my mac to run windows 7 premium home 64 bit. I am trying to use a flash drive with windows 7 .iso file but I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I pay $60 for windows and I can't even install it. There are so many errors and stupid formatting crap to do and now boot camp assistant doesn't work. I watched some guy on youtube and followed him exactly and now my bootcamp is messed. Someone please help.

Now what do I do after that?

(I just restarted my computer to start from scratch)

P.S. Bootcamp doesn't open still. and there's no message saying it quit unexpectedly now.

Look in Applications -> Utilities -> Console logs for any bootcamp related messages.

I read that all I needed to change was

    1. Add my model to Supported model

    2. Add my DARequiredRomModels

    3. Delete "Pre" from UEFIModels and add mine

    4. Delete "Pre" from USBBootSupportedModels and add mine

If your Mac does not show the option to Create USB Installer option, it is not supported. Forcing this function has issues further down the line with no boot device or black screens. Is your Optical drive not functioning properly?

This is a brand new Macbook (2015) 12". It only has the usb-c insert. I do have a usb-c to USB adapter. Before when my bootcamp worked it did say that I could use a usb.

However, now I just can't get my bootcamp to open period.

Your 2015 Mac is capable of booting from the USB Installer, which it will create. You should see this option automatically and do not need Bootcamp info.plist modification. Is there a specific reason for you to modify this file? Can you restore the original files  from backup?

My bootcamp works now. Thank you so much for all your help. What I've been trying to do is install windows 10 onto my macbook. I have the windows 10 USB stick and also the key. I just don't understand the whole creating an iso and such.

Using your W10 product key, you can download a 64-bit W10 ISO to your Mac from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home or Windows Media Creation tool (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install). Leave the W10 USB as is.

So if when it asks me if I'm sure that i want to use this USB drive it won't be lost? I only have one port on the mac for a usb stick so if use it i don't want to mess up and have to rebuy the product.

The USB will be erased, formatted, BC drivers and ISO contents will be copied to the USB which can used to install Windows.

It says that my bootable usb drive couldn't be created. Is there a step I'm missing?

    EDIT:

I removed the windows 10 USB stick. I replaced it with an empty 32 gig usb that I have and it accepted it and is now copying the windows files. Seems to be working fine! Just curious what is the W10 USB stick actually for?

When you use Windows Media Creation Tool, it allows you to download the installer to your choice of media. I will usually keep it on multiple storage mediums, USBs can be lost, so a copy on the Mac, and then a DVD copy. Please ensure that the USB is a USB2 disk. USB3 will not work.

Two USB sticks will confuse BCA.

I have a MacBook Air and I changed the coding for bootcamp. I put "Pre" before "USBBootSupportedModels</key> and Boot wouldn't open and it said "Boot Camp Assistant quit unexpectedly." I read the report and it said "coding error". How do I fix it
