Q: Where to buy pages 5.2.2 or older

My friend has OS 10.6.8, needs to work in Pages but prefers not to update to Mavericks. Which Pages works and where to buy/download it? Seems like app store only sells the moset recent.

Thank you for help

The OS X App Store does only offer the latest version. Apple does not offer older versions of Pages. Your friend can purchase Lion or Mountain Lion in the online Apple Store for around $20USD each. This is an electronic code that can then be used in the OS X App Store to download the updater. OS X Mavericks is not available any longer from Apple. Have your friend backup their Mac before any update.

Personally, and if your friend's Mac meets the hardware requirements for Mountain Lion, I would do update with that version. Pages '09 v4.3 (last release) works well on it, it is the minimum supported OS X release for LibreOffice now, and Apple is still providing security updates.

You can get the iWork '09 DVD (including Pages '09) from Amazon. Whether you choose Lion, or Mountain Lion, you can follow the DVD installation with the Apple iWork 9.3 updater to get the last revisions of those applications.
