Q: Frozen App Store Updates / Podcast Downloads (iPhone 6 / iOS 8)

Having issues with my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.

Everything has been going smoothly until two days ago. My App Store showed that 5 apps should be updated. I selected 'Update All' but nothing happened. Only spinning wheels. Also, same day, I could no longer download podcasts. I have 19 podcasts waiting to download and 5 apps waiting to update.

I followed instructions from this: If you can’t connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support

But could not get past the step 2. I try to check for Software Update (Settings>General>SoftwareUpdate), the wheel spins for quite a long time before giving up in defeat.

What gives?

Experiencing the same problems here, too. I went to an Apple Store for help with this today, had both my iPad and iPhone reset as problems are experienced on both devices. Spent most of the day reinstalling apps, done a restore and setup from new, and these problems still exist.

I've started using Pocketcasts for podcasts, at least that seems to work for now. I can now access the iTunes Store, and the iTunes & App Store section in settings, but I couldn't change my passcode without rebooting and I'm having major problems installing/updating apps. A reboot fixes it, but only for a short period of time.

GIven we are are all experiencing the same problems, and it only started a few days ago, the problem has to be with Apple's end? I updated to 8.4.1 a while ago, and the problems have only just started.

How do we report this? If mass reports of problems come through, hopefully the problem will be resolved soon.

Everyone I am tired of this problem and fed up with the lack of response from Apple

I have posted a formal post in the iPhone group and linked back to this post.  I'd appreciate if you could all continue my post over there to so that Apple sees just how much of a problem they have on their hands

Ok so someone in the other thread reported that their devices are now working properly - can you confirm this is the case for all of you?

Sadly for two of us this is now the case.

Nope, still having problems here. Just this morning I was unable to stream music from Apple Music until I rebooted on my iPhone. Posting here using Safari on the iPad, the reply box doesn't see text when I type. I'm having to use the advanced editor. Not seeing some other problems that I've experienced recently, apps are at least downloading. The podcast app is also searching, downloading and playing, too, for now.

I'm beginning to suspect it happens with some podcasts more than others. Maybe it has do to with the hosts? I remember a similar problem a while back I had with only one podcast...

My flakey iOS experience continues. No app store updates, no streaming on Apple Music, settings freeze when I try to access Itunes settings, email links don't work. All is fixed with a power cycle, then problems return hours later. Same issues on my iphone 5s and ipad mini 2. So I finally got around to a Apple Store genius appointment. My experience was not so bad. The tech guy asked about what I tried. I ran down the list: power cycle, power hard reset, reset all settings, log out of itunes and icloud on all devices. All provided temporary cures with a return of problems a few hours later. They guy agreed that the problem was in the OS or the cloud. He agreed to escalate the support to the engineering team. He said it is likely a software bug that will not get better without an update. I hope iOS 9 comes out on 9/9. For now I just restart my devices much more often.
