Did you try my suggestion?
If that didn’t do it, restore your entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from your backup.

Sep 1, 2015 9:14 PM in response to MeretStby Timbuktu,The introduction of Apple Music and iCloud Music library location caused a few problems. Where do you store your music? Locally in the default iTunes location in your Music folder under your home folder? Have you checked it is still there? iTunes uses library files to keep track of your music and playlists, and likely your library file was corrupted during the update and lost track of the location of your music files. If you provide more details about where you stored your music and what options you selected during the upgrade it will be easier for me to pin point the issue and provide you with possible solutions.

Sep 1, 2015 9:31 PM in response to Dmc52015by gail from maine,Were these thousands of dollars spent on music in the iTunes Store? If so, then regardless of whether you can see them in your Library, you still have access to them and can download them. So, can you specify whether or not you are talking about thousands of dollars in iTunes purchases?
Cheers,
GB
