Q: Intermittent Wifi Connection issues - response from Apple ?

OK I have a Mac book late 2013 on Yosemite and guess what I have ?

Yep Wifi does not drop, it can still be seen as connected but can not resolve DNS. Then a couple of minutes later all ok. If I restart this resolves the issue for a few days then comes back.

Now at the same I drop this I am on Windows PC and that is fine and can access all OK, yes windows is better, believe that.

I am not interested in doing multiple checks etc, there are too many threads and info to check. Can someone confirm that Apple have acknowledged that there is a problem ? This is NOT a ISP issue or Wifi issue otherwise my PC would be affected at the same time.

The drop when I have measured seems to be between 50 and 70 seconds.

otherwise it's not across the board everyones milage varies on this issue.

if you post an etrececk log we can see if something in particular is at the root of the problem.

OK, but I updated to 10.10.4 because of the issue and it got better but still there.

I understand (I work in IT) why companies are reluctant to admit to problems but this is a major problem when watching streams.

I work in IT too, problems can be specific to one machine that are not on an identical machine with the same software or hardware.

If a company blows up network connectivity across the board they generally admit to it or blame someone else. The issue you describe was sporadic and not everyone with a Mac had it happen. That being said there were many who reported it but it does not necessarily put Apple in the blame -and trust me when I say I am NOT defending Apple, but I have to look at everything else that could be the root cause before I say it's affected everything.

Oh of course every machine is different. I understand that but when you search as I did today and find so many comments, so many threads then it is fair to ask what Apple think.

For example is there a single document of checks etc we can make ?

Other than this issue I love my Mac when I came over from Windows and would never go back ....

you appear to have several instances of enterprise software resident in your startup.

I suggest you start with booting into safe mode

OS X Yosemite: Start up in safe mode

    and work from there

if the problem persists you may want to backup, then re-image a stock machine, test it. If works without issues I would then reinstall the enterprise software and continues testing one install at a time.
