Q: Magic Mouse on MacBook Air stops working occasionally
I use a Magic Mouse via bluetooth on my Mid-2012 13 inch MacBook Air, with 1.8GHz processor and 4GB RAM. It has all the latest software updates, including OX Yosemite, version 10.10.5. It's been a trouble free computer; except for this issue.
My mouse stops working occasionally. It will sometimes cycle through connecting and disconnecting every 2-3 seconds, while never permanently connecting. Other times it will just stop working without indicating whether or not it's connected. The mouse preferences sometimes show that it is connected when it is not. I try to select "connect" or "disconnect", depending on what it shows, but there is no response.
The only way I've found to reconnect the mouse is to reboot the computer, and that is only a temporary solution, lasting anywhere from 15 minutes to a coupe of days. It happens with fresh batteries as well as not so fresh. I bought a new mouse attempting to solve the issue, but it still happens with either mouse.
I'm ready to take into an Apple store for service, if no one out there can help me fix it.
