You are asking this in the iWork for iOS forum. Your profile says you are using an iMac running OS X 10.6. I am not sure this is up to date.
I may have your answer anyway.
If you are running Yosemite (OS X 10.10) then you really need to update your programs. You do not have to update to Numbers 3 or Pages 5 but they are free with Yosemite and you can still use iWork '09. It can sometimes be confusing if you try to open a new file in the older program but once your sort that out you will be fine having both. You might like the new ones better. They have suited me fine.
The latest version of Numbers '09 is 2.3. Earlier versions will run poorly.
Hiroto, in another thread, offered this link to an updater
I think this will update them all.

You can do them all if you are running the current OS X. Good luck!
