Also, try these basic troubleshooting steps suggested by Apple.

You can also try setting up your mail account from scratch.

Sep 8, 2015 12:29 AM in response to D.Cohenby craigfrommendon,I logged onto my Comcast account with my MacBook Pro and all the servers seem to be working just fine including my apple mail. I have gone through the basic troubleshooting steps without any success and I also set up a couple of new comcast mail accounts from scratch, on my iPad, and they work fine.
