Q: my photo will not print in the right direction on photo paper

I am unable to print my photos correctly onto the matching photo paper.  When I choose a size to print my photo, and I press 'print', it shows that the photo will print in the wrong direction.....landscape instead of portrait or portrait instead of landscape as chosen.  I have tried everything one can do but no luck.  It still wants to print picture sideways instead of the right way.

I have read in a different topic that you can change from portrait to landscape or vice versa in TextEdit, a small Apple application that is on your Mac.

If you don't see it in your Dock, you should be able to retrieve it in your Applications folder.

Took me some time to find that topic I was referring to, but here it is: Photos won't print properly

it shows that the photo will print in the wrong direction.....landscape instead of portrait or portrait instead of landscape as chosen.

The option to switch between portrait and landscape is cleverly hidden.

You are supposed to change the print orientation by choosing one of the templates for Portrait or Landscape.

But that requires to be able to insert the paper in Portrait orientation. It will not work with forms in landscape.

The best way is to pick the "custom" template.  You can define the aspect ratio of the photo to be printed, set the photo size, and then click the blue double arrow between the width and the height of the phototo switch between portrait and landscape:
