Q: 3rd generation ipod nano getting 1439 error and I have done all the steps that were in previous posts

I just got an iPod 3rd generation nano. When I connected it to my PC, I get notification that I need to format. Then in iTunes it tells me I need to restore. I do so, but then I get an error 1493 saying cannot restore. I have reset both nano and computer. Restarted computer. Put in different USB port. No other USB ports are occupied. I have the latest version of iTunes. I restarted computer about 5 different times. Held the menu and select on the wheel. Nothing is working. I want to scream!
