Sep 15, 2015 7:30 AM in response to Wama103by mdp123,I've tried many of the above fixes.
None of them worked.
Unexpectedly, this was my fix.
I was solving another issue with iTune Family Plan and my login.
I have an old AppleID from the days of @mac.com
Newer versions of that username allowed me to login to Mac specific services, those ending in @iCloud.com and @me.com.
However, if machines were not setup with the original @mac.com username, it would constantly ask me for the password.
Note to Apple, this may solve this nagging window that came up 3x in a row after startup.
And entering correct password doesn't help, because the OS was trying to authorize a different login name than what Apple's web sites allow in.
Make all your machines your old username with @mac.com and you're golden.

Sep 26, 2015 5:03 PM in response to mdp123by kahri, this sounds right to me. Every once in a while apple will try to convince me to change my @mac to a @me or @icloud.
This iCloud issue has made me realize I don't need any of the icloud services. I'm also an android user so I already use most, if not all, the same cloud services by google (photos, contacts, calendar, drive, etc....) Not to mention 3rd party dropbox and the like. I just unchecked all icloud services and forward my @mac mail to gmail.

Aug 18, 2016 4:43 AM in response to Wama103by cacSlick,I was having this issue on my iMac, which started all of a sudden yesterday and today when I booted up. I had no clue why, because I typically don't use iCloud. I looked in System Preferences > iCloud, which showed me the items that were checked. One being Documents and Data. So I unchecked that. Then I saw that almost all of the 5gb of storage were taken up by a backup of my iPad. I just did OS updates on both of my iPads day before yesterday. Apparently, some of the settings got changed, because I have had one of my iPads for years and the other for months and have never done a backup. After going through the Settings > iCloud section of the newer iPad, sure enough a bunch of things were turned on and checked in Settings > iCloud. Changed all settings, hopefully the popup won't show up on my iMac tomorrow. <rolls eyes>
