Q: Itunes will not play through headphones, only the speakers.

When I plug in any of my headphones into the jack on my computer(normal 3.5mm jack) it will not play itunes music through the headphones, rather they continue to play through my speakers. But things like youtube and such will play through the headphones. How do I get it so the music will play through my headphones?

On Windows 8.1 I was able to fix this problem by going into Preferences > Playback and changing the "Play Audio Using" setting from Windows Audio Session to Direct Sound

If you go into iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Playback and select 'Direct Audio' for 'Play Audio Using'. Then log out of iTunes and log back in and you should be able to hear through your headphones. Good luck!
