Q: iPhone stopped connecting to Car Play

My iPhone 6 Plus has stopped connecting to my Pioneer CarPlay unit.  I am running iOS 8.4.1 and have not put any applications on it lately.  I checked my wife's iPhone 5S and it connects just fine....8.4.1 as well

Reset my data and settings and it did not resolve the problem.  I then wiped my iPhone completely and performed the new iPhone setup....it connected to the radio perfectly.  I then restored it with my saved backup and it would not connect.

Any help or ideas?

Thank you in advance for any help with this matter.

Regards,

Craig

    Hello Craig,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand your phone is no longer connecting with your Pioneer unit. If it worked after being set up as new and quit after you restored from saved backup, that leads me to believe something in the settings are damaged. I would suggest taking a look at this article, the section "If you're using Bluetooth" might be the most relevant. I am most interested in step #4, unpair and repair.

Thanks, but that did not help.  Plus....Apple CarPlay does not function over BT yet, only Audio over BT.   I believe IOS 9 addresses that.  I am not able to connect Apple CarPlay using the connection via USB.  I did reload my backup and verified that Step #4 did not make any difference.

I too believe it is a setting that is hosing it, just cannot find what.  Or the IOS got corrupted on last update, who knows.  I'm just rebuilding my setup and will go from there.
