Q: iphone 5s won't change from portrait to landscape with positioning
It's been awhile that my iphone 5s will not re-position itself from portrait to landscape while doing anything else but using my camera. I wonder if it is related to an upgrade to iOS 8. I've tried searching settings until my fingers hurt; I believe I have looked at every single page with nothing mentioning position of the information on the phone. When I read my email, I like to change it to landscape so that I can read it easier- now it won't work and I cannot find out why or what to do about it.The Community chose iphone by itself and I couldn't see one better.
iPhone 5s, iOS 8.4.1, 6 GB remaining space

Try a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it comes up. You will not lose any data or apps.
Also bring up the Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of the Home page. Then check that the lock icon, the upper rightmost, is not enabled.
