Q: Boot Camp Windows 7 Pro on Mac Mini 2011 - No Sleep Option Available
Hello,
I have a Mac Mini Mid 2011 (MC816LL/A) that I have installed Windows 7 Professional on via (Yosemite) Boot Camp for home theater purposes. The only upgrades on this unit is the addition of an SSD drive and a 16 GB memory upgrade. This is actually the second Mac Mini (same year/model/everything) I've performed the install on, so I can verify that this was not an isolated incident.
During the installation, I use an Apple Display (1st gen Thunderbolt) as the main display, up until the point where I move the Mac Mini and connect it to my TV. Throughout all the steps, I have noticed the Sleep function is disabled as an option on the Shut Down menu and in the options within Power Settings. I have come across some similar Sleep issue posts regarding Windows 7 Boot Camp setups stating the issue may be due to the Thunderbolt driver. However, they all seemed to all be regarding installs on Macbook Pros and, additionally, I'm using the HDMI port to connect to the TV, leaving the the Thunderbolt port unused.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start? If any additional information is needed, please feel free to request. Thanks in advance for any solutions.
