Sep 9, 2015 7:33 PM in response to OldGnomeby gilda92,I didn't know that!!! I assumed that when I opened the battery door I was disconnecting the aids from the iPhone. There's no end to the things to be learned!
Thank you Old Gnome.

Sep 10, 2015 7:49 PM in response to frankericby gilda92,Aha! And all this time (since January) I didn't know that because when I put my aids into the drying jar I only open the door about halfway! Today to test your and OldGnome's statements I opened the battery door all the way but didn't take the batteries out and, voila, the aids were no longer visible to the iPhone.
The "knowledge" (see London cabbies) is endless.

Sep 11, 2015 3:41 AM in response to gilda92by OldGnome,The instructions that came with my drying jar state that you should remove the batteries from the hearing aids before putting them in the jar.
I do not know if the life of batteries is impacted by spending time in the jar. I do know that opening the battery doors only partway might not turn the hearing aids off and therefore drain the batteries when you are not using them.

Sep 11, 2015 6:21 AM in response to OldGnomeby gilda92,Thanks for this info! My batteries last about 7 sometimes 8 days now. Next time two or three times I replace them I won't put them in the jar and see if they last longer. They already seem to have lives of their own, some lasting longer than others. Too bad they can't invent another way to power the aids!

Sep 11, 2015 7:35 PM in response to OldGnomeby gilda92,I checked with Dry and Store (I used to have one of those) about leaving batteries in the aids. This is from them:
I can leave the batteries in?
Yes, you can leave the batteries in the hearing aids during conditioning, with the battery door open. Independent testing by Energizer revealed that in high humidity conditions, Dry & Store appliances can increase zinc air battery life by 10-20%. Another reason for batteries lasting longer is simply that it takes less energy to power a hearing aid that is completely dry.
The good news is that you don't need to fumble around removing those tiny batteries or risk losing them. What you want to do is open the battery compartment door so that batteries & contacts are exposed... -
Nov 11, 2015 9:14 AM in response to frankericby bholtzkener,Bottom line, the 110's need work!
I have had my 110's electronics replaced twice.
I still am troubled by spontaneous changes of programs and unrequested STREAM BOOST situations.
Program changes:
This seems to happen in locations with the potential of either many cell phones or more likely, a lot of blue tooth activity is likely.
STREAM BOOST:
My device also goes into STREAM BOOST immediately before my iPhone connects to my car's BT and continues for a few seconds after the connection is broken. However there is no sound from the car mp3 between these events.
Most recently, my 110's went very to a very low volume. I needed to turn on STREM BOOST to be able to use them.
