Q: Mail share option safari opens Google Chrome. How to set to default mail app?

When i wanna share a page opened in Safari and send it thru mail, the OS is automatically opening my Google Chrome browser. I have already checked in Mail app in preferences and Mail.app is set as the default mail app. Anyone has a clue how to solve this issue?

Thank you!

    Hi Adalwin,

My understanding here is that when you are in Safari and select Email This Page from the Share button (or use the File menu > Share > Email This Page), it launches Chrome rather than the Mail app. You note that Mail is already selected as the default email application. Is that correct?

I would like for you to check first that Safari is set as your default web browser. From the Apple menu > System Preferences > General check that Safari is selected as the Default web browser. This article describes the process - Set the default email app and web browser on your Mac.

Once that has been set, test Safari again to see if it sends the page normally through the Mail app.

If the issue persists, or if Safari was already set as your default web browser, I would like you to change your defaul mail application to some other program (any program, it doesn't matter what) and then change it back again to Mail. See the above article for this process. Quit and relaunch the Mail application.

Again, test sending a page in Safari. If you are still having the issue, please repost here with the results of your tests and we will continue to assist.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Sincerely.
