Q: Texting word assist


Is there a setting for texting with word assist using a 4S iOS 8.  I had it originally but it went away.

iPhone 4S, iOS 8.4.1

Hello Kaligirl55,

 

It sounds like you may have accidentally turned off Predictive Text, or hid it on your phone and you want it back. This should help you out:

 

Get help with your keyboard on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Hide and show the suggestions

You'll get three word or phrase options to use while you're writing a message. To hide the suggestions, swipe down. To show the suggestions, swipe up.

      

Turn off predictive text 

To turn off predictive text tap   or press and hold   and tap Predictive. 

You can also turn off predictive text in Settings > General > Keyboard > Predictive.
