Q: Turning off a filter which was applied on MAC

This is not a question but a plea for anyone that has found themselves locked out from their data because of a filter they applied on the desktop version.

Ever notice you can't use filters on the iOS version?  First, ask for it by submitting feedback to Apple.  If you have noticed this then have you ever found yourself out in the field using a spreadsheet which has a filter applied to it and you CAN NOT REMOVE THE FILTER?  This means if the data you now need is blocked by that filter you better climb into your vehicle and drive home so you can remove it..

Apple.. great planning

You can turn off a filter in the iOS version of Numbers.

It's not in the most intuitive place (at least for me) but all you have to do is:

    1. tap somewhere in the filtered table
    2. tap the format "paintbrush" icon
    3. tap 'Table Options'
    4. turn the 'Filters' switch to off.

Wow.. thank you so much for posting.  Definitely not intuitive at all and very UN-Apple by design.  Wish I had known this the other day when I REALLY needed to get to my data on a job site

I remember reading in an article somewhere that Numbers for iOS did recognize filters, and it took me a lot of poking around before I could find the feature.  I would have given up had I not known for sure that it was there somewhere... Glad it helped, and thanks for the green tick!

    Hi jgowrie,

Turning filters on and off is not as obscure as all that.

Select the table. This usually takes two taps- tap in the table then tap the bullseye in the upper left.

tap the arrow in the popup menu to reveal "turn filters off/on". tap.
