Q: ipad 2 upgrade to iOS9 failed and destroyed my iPad

I got the same problem.

Update via itunes and iPad bricks.... no chance to update or make a recovery....

Force Restart the device:

Force Restart (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)

1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.

2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

You may need to try this multiple times until the device responds

If you need to restore, you can always use your backup to get things back the way they were...that's assuming you made one before updating to iOS 9.

so do you suggest not to upgrade my ipad2  to iOS9?

Try upgrading iTunes on your computer to iTunes 12.3.

I have the same problem. After updating to 9.0 on an ipad 2, everything is stuck on a blank screen with >Update (maybe not right trad in english, french is "mettre à niveau") slider at the bottom. Slider is stuck and doesn't move

I have tried this numerous times and the screen keeps coming back to an iTunes icon with an arrow pointing to it and a picture of the connector under the icon.

having the same issue.  Tried to force restart 4 times but still showing the screen of death with a slide arrow
