Aug 26, 2015 7:01 PM in response to king_d418by Maxfli58,You have to open REGEDIT and search for itunes6464.msi.
It will show up in a couple of places but the one you want is in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\220A2F3973C68B842B14FFBA9 D6FC003
Now the log digit string at the end will be different on your computer.

Sep 5, 2015 1:35 PM in response to turingtest2by Sicilian,turingtest2 - First off, THANK YOU!
I have been dealing with this for almost 3 weeks now. Apple blew me off to Microsoft. Microsoft opened a ticket...never got back to me and 2 weeks later I called and they closed it as resolved
One quick question, when I run Apple Software Update, the version still appears as if to download after it has installed. Did I missed something?

Sep 5, 2015 1:48 PM in response to Sicilianby turingtest2,You're welcome.
If it is working then I'd say all is good. Apple Software Update may have a cached download that it thinks it should still try to install. I'm not that familiar with the way it works behind the scenes. Chances are they will be a new build of iTunes next week so once you know that is there you could see if ASU will install that and then stay happy. If you've installed the "for older video cards" version then I think ASU keeps trying to offer the all 64-bit version.

Sep 17, 2015 7:19 AM in response to turingtest2by Sicilian,Just a quick follow-up as a new version of iTunes has been released and it was installed successfully. Apple Software Update still shows it available to download but I've checked the version and it's all good.
You've resolved my problem while Apple blew me off and Microsoft told me regarding my case being closed and resolved (about 3 weeks of research and troubleshooting), and for that, I thank you!
You should start charging buddy!

Jan 27, 2016 3:00 PM in response to abby229by turingtest2,For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.
Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
If the issue persists and you have a 64-bit system try the for older video cards version which is a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit code, similar to all 64-bit versions of iTunes up to 12.1.
