As far as I remember, Apple saves the last known location 24 hours:

If you see "Offline," "No location available," or "Location Services Off," your device might be offline for one of these reasons:

    • It's powered off, the battery has run out, or it’s been more than 24 hours since the last location was sent to Apple (if Send Last Location is turned on). When your device is connected to the Internet, you can see the remaining battery in the upper-right corner of the information pane.
    • Your iPad, iPod Touch, or Mac is asleep and not connected to a known Wi-Fi or data network. Wait a few minutes and try again.
    • You're in a country where we don't offer this feature. This feature might not be available in your country due to technical limitations or local law.

You can still play a sound, send a message, issue a lock request, or start an erase of your iOS device with Find My iPhone. Your device will receive the command after it's turned on and has an Internet connection.

If you contact your wireless service provider to report your device lost or stolen, they might deactivate your SIM card or account. This will turn off your iPhone's service and you won't be able to find, play a sound, send a message, issue a lock request, or start an erase of your iOS device with Find My iPhone. However, we'll help you learn how to protect your data.

Your device's last known location is available for one day. If your device is offline or can't connect to Find My iPhone for more than 24 hours, you won't be able to see the last known location.

I hoped there was a way to still track it...cant go by the  last location reading coz its not precise and the area is pretty shady...but thanks for you reply, ill try to be more careful next time, if ibuy an iphone

Sorry that this had not been the good news for your lost device.

But without being connected to a network and no power, there is no signal to be sent by the phone.

If you have not yet deactivated the Activation Lock, nobody else can set up the phone without knowing your Apple ID and password.

HHey so my brother originally had a samsung phone but it was stollen so my parents decided to go with the iPhone since T-Mobile recommended that phone to them cause if it was stollen we could track it using iCloud or find my iPhone app but we never tholight that his iPhone would be stollen but it was two weeks after he got it the police where involved since it was stollen at his high school and when we used iCloud to fine it and it kept saying it was at a cer spot in the school the police checked and checked but they couldn't find it but we always got emails that it was found then we went to check iCloud it kept saying it was in the same spot and know the ipho finally died and we can't find his phone now. is the icloud accurate or does it really work
