Sep 17, 2015 5:57 PM in response to giulianoscanby elcpu,Did you do these:
6) Determine if other Wi-Fi devices on network are working well (other iOS devices, Macs, PCs).
7) Try device at another Network, i.e., neighbors’, public coffee house, etc.
8) Restore the Device (ask for additional for details if desired).
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252
If so what was the outcome? Please don't just say they did not work. The more details the better. Did you do a complete #9? A backup and a Restore are two different things, not sure what you meant above.
Also iOS 9 is just out - a bug is certainly possible and if so hopefully corrected in a 9.0.1 update. I remember iOS 8.01 all too well....

Sep 17, 2015 6:03 PM in response to tdollimoreby miguel_pawl,For me 3G and WIFI is not working at all (iPhone 5 with iOS9). Sometimes i receive messages (e.g. Whatsapp) but i can only see them in preview. Connection to the internet is dead afterwards instantly. I tried everything which you said @elcpu but it didn't work out for me. Funny thing is that these problems started 5-6 hours after i installed the update. so it worked for a while.

Sep 17, 2015 6:08 PM in response to miguel_pawlby elcpu,Very strange Miguel. As you know 3G and Wi-Fi are not related at all, have to be two different issues. Maybe the phone went on the blink but I bet you did not try my last suggestion... 9) Go to an Apple Store for hardware evaluation.

Sep 17, 2015 6:12 PM in response to elcpuby miguel_pawl,true, i didn't go to an Apple Store yet. I still hope that 9.0.1 will be released soon.

Sorry

Sep 17, 2015 6:29 PM in response to Joseph Bruniby skymon2,I also have this iOS9 WiFi issue on my iPhone6 when I don't broadcast the SSID. My other iOS 8.4.1 devices work fine with the SSID broadcast off. I have done the iPhone reboot and network reset, router reboot, manual WiFi setup - nothing has worked. Currently stuck with leaving the SSID broadcast on.

Sep 17, 2015 6:33 PM in response to skymon2by elcpu,What is wrong with leaving SSID on? If it is PW protected with a strong PW what difference does it make? Mine are on all the time - I actually have a choice of 4 (3 routers, one dual band).

Sep 17, 2015 6:35 PM in response to elcpuby giulianoscan, elcpu, sorry, must be annoying to you to see plenty of people with the same problem.
I meant I did a complete reset, erasing all from the phone, but first did a backup,
then I restore the phone from this backup. I did that at least 5 times, and reseted network 50 times....
I'll keep trying your steps, and hopefully not have to reach number 9.
Now I'm doing another restore from a backup. could even connect to wifi now, and could change the DNS.
it appears ok... let's see if it remains stable, I'll let you know. thank you very much for now, you really did help a lot.
When whe are so desperate like I was, we make some mistakes, the secret is to take a deep breath and go for it.

Sep 17, 2015 6:44 PM in response to elcpuby Joseph Bruni,Nothing is wrong with broadcasting your SSID. It was once thought by people ignorant about security that broadcasting a network name was somehow less secure. In fact, even the initial versions of the PCI-DSS required it. That was removed in 2.0

Sep 17, 2015 6:55 PM in response to Joseph Bruniby iFaqeer,Folk's,
I'm seeing the exact same problem here that unless I turn on the 'SSID Broadcast = Yes' on my router, my iPhone 6 with iOS 9 will not join my Wi-Fi network. As soon as I turn on the SSID Broadcast, it connects instantly. I'm using WPA2 Personal on the router and have gone thru all the normal steps of doing a clean install of iOS9, resetting the network settings, manually trying to connect etc. and none worked so far. For, now I've downgraded back to 8.4.1 till someone figures it out. Now, one of the suggestions that was posted earlier was to try using Google's DNS instead. Has anyone (skymon2?) tried it with keeping their SSID as hidden and if so, share whether this worked for them or not?, Thanks

Sep 17, 2015 6:57 PM in response to elcpuby skymon2,Better question is why can't we turn SSID broadcast off? It has been working fine for previous releases. Why the change? Must be a bug. Turning SSID off is just one item in a list for security. No need to get into a discussion about tools that can still see it.
