Q: MacBook Retina Causing Issues with Overall Network

Has anyone else seen this? I have my MacBook 12" on my desk near my computer that is connected via ethernet. When I connect my MacBook to wifi and begin using it, my desktop computer begins to intermittently lose its VPN connection to my work site. (It's a PC). I think the problem is also happening to my Mac Mini, also connected via Ethernet. Wireless connections are OFF on both desktop computers.

Am I crazy or is this a known issue? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Any ideas of how to troubleshoot?

Thanks!

Joel

Are you saying the problem occurs when the MacBook is connected to both Ethernet and WiFi, or just that it occurs when you connect to the WiFi network?

Just wifi. I have a USB-C ethernet adapter for it that I am testing right now. I turned off wifi.

So far, no problems after about 3 minutes of downloading on the MacBook.

It helped when I was connected via Ethernet for sure, but it bothers me that I don't have the ability to run the computer via wifi!

In addition, it seems like it is really reducing my overall speed. With the computer disconnected from the network, my speed runs around 105 Mg, but only around 60 with the computer connected, even if there isn't major traffic going on.

As I say, I wasn't sure if there were known issues with the computer and networking.

Note that this problem has NOT been solved, even though it was marked that way. I still have the problem when I connect via WiFi. This can't be correct and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it.
