Sep 19, 2015 3:32 AM in response to Brinkley666by Brinkley666,I just tried setting the ipad up as a new Ipad using the restore mode and it worked!
Only problem is that if like me you used Icloud backup you are stuffed. Icloud seems to think if you are setting up as a new ipad on the old icloud back up account you won't be requiring your backup again so it's just not there anymore!
Good on Apple you have done it again

Sep 19, 2015 7:47 AM in response to Brinkley666by ben_ellis,Likewise, I've tried the restore from backup, the backup succeeds, syncs, and then: same problem as before, stuck on "slide to update".
We need a less painful way to work around this than: restore the phone from backup (which takes quite a while and then ultimately makes no difference).

Sep 19, 2015 8:57 AM in response to Brinkley666by ben_ellis,I tried setting up the iphone by restoring as a new phone. That works but is a big loss of data (who wants to have to setup all those passwords etc. all over again, argh...). I then tried restoring from a backup of my phone from before the upgrade, but no luck, I still wind up stuck with "slide to upgrade". So in practice the only workaround I've found so far is to start my phone all over again from scratch. Not a happy customer about this! But then again, what was I thinking? Apple always botches its *.0 releases. I should have waited til at least 9.1....

Sep 20, 2015 2:48 AM in response to Brinkley666by jessicasar,Same thing on my ipad 2 and everytime I try to connect on itunes it freezes my pc.
It is my favorite of all ipads and I have no interest in a new one so i'm quite desperate here.

Sep 20, 2015 2:59 AM in response to jessicasarby Brinkley666,Jessica I read a post about restoring your ipad to IOS 8.4.1 There is a website that still allows access to that version. I will include a link to the instructions.

Sep 21, 2015 1:01 AM in response to Brinkley666by Dorsetlady,I've tried upgrading and restoring several times via iTunes and it still gets stuck on the slide to upgrade. An Apple advisor told me there's nothing more I can try and have to wait until iOS 9.1 is released but they've no idea when this will be!
