Q: Notes not syncing from Mac to iCloud

My Notes app on my MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012, running OS X 10.10.3) doesn't seem to be syncing with iCloud. The notes on my iPhone show up in iCloud and vice versa, but there seems to be no uploading or downloading between the computer and iCloud.

I originally had my notes syncing through my Gmail account. When I tried using iCloud for notes instead, I was prompted to create an iCloud.com email address. I did so, and now I can turn on the Notes switch on both my computer and my iPhone. My Gmail address is still my primary email address for iCloud (the one I sign in with), but the new iCloud.com address shows up on both devices as an alternate, and I no longer get the prompt to create an iCloud.com address when I flip the switch on either device.

I moved all my notes from the Gmail folder to the iCloud folder on my computer, but they just won't show up on iCloud.com or on my phone. Also, a new note I created on my phone does show up on iCloud.com but not my computer.

I've tried flipping the iCloud "Notes" switches on and off on both devices to no avail — I can't seem to jumpstart a sync of my notes between my computer and iCloud. Any ideas? Sorry if this question has been asked and answered; I tried Googling the issue.

Try going to System Preferences/iCloud and uncheck Notes syncing. Log out/in snd then recheck syncing.

I have the same problem, too. I share notes on my iMac and iPhone, using my iCloud connection. I tried every option, signed off on both my Mac and iPhone, signed on again, but Notes does not sync... Calendar did synchronise, on the other hand, therefore the problem is with notes.

    Any suggestion?

I am having a similar problem. Only about half the notes on my iMac make it to the phone. Just today i made new test messages on both phone and iMac, and they went to the cloud with no problem. But the other missing messages never sync, even if I make a change to them.

Regarding the idea of unchecking the Notes box in the Internet accounts panel: do you mean to log out and then back in to your iCloud account, or to your user account on the computer?

When I started logging out of iCloud on my phone it warned me that items stored in the cloud would be deleted from my computer. That spooked me, so I stopped.

Go ahead and proceed with the iCloud log out. The warning seems dire, but all it is saying is that the things that are sync'd to your Mac from iCloud will be removed. Once you sign back on to the iCloud account, they will be sync'd back. Do the same thing on your phone.

Hm... I just did next: i signed out on my iPhone, than i signed out on my mac and what i saw on my mac:Screen Shot 2015-09-18 at 1.47.35 PM.png

It is caused by "keychain" function. iCloud thinks that some other device use the same iCloud account. But all my devices (it is iPhone only) was signed out at this time!

I rebooted my mac - useless. So, i even can't make full signed out from iCloud account on my mac.

Have you scrolled down on the screen posted to make sure that Keychain was not checked there? Also, check to make sure it is not turned on on your device by going to Settings>iCloud, and scroll down to Keychain and make sure it is = OFF.

My phone at this time was absolutely logged off! When i try to uncheck Keychain option, it just don't want to uncheck. It still remains turned on. That's the major problem why i can't make full sign out on my mac. Looks like bug.

You need to close all apps on your Mac, reboot it, then without opening anything else, go to System Preferences>iCloud and see if you can turn off Keychain. If you are signed into anything that uses Keychain, it won't let you turn it off.

Did you check your iPhone to make sure that the notes you are looking for are under iCloud and are not just stored as Local Notes?

Open Notes, and click on the back arrow at the top. You should see an entry for iCloud and one for Local. Click on the iCloud one to make sure the notes you are looking for are showing there. If they are not, and are only showing on your Local notes, and you have the new updated Notes app running on your phone, you can click the Edit button and then Copy All to move them to the iCloud Notes.

If you are not running the updated Notes app, you can select them individually, then click the Share button at the bottom and send them to yourself, or you can Copy them, then open a new note in the iCloud notes, press down on the note until you see "Paste" and then paste them manually.

    Best of luck,

Actually I Have tried with another iPhone  and I have got a message said it should you have El Captain on your MAC to do the right sync, that mean  the note won't  sync with your iPhone in right way until you upgrade to El Captain
